Hi, I’m Emily — mom, messy home cook, and the heart behind NumNumRecipes. I’m so happy you’re here.
This blog didn’t start in a perfectly organized kitchen with kids happily munching on kale chips. It began in the middle of a very real, very chaotic parenting moment. I was staring down yet another dinner disaster: untouched broccoli, a plate of “too green” pasta, and a toddler insisting — once again — on fries. Only fries.
Sound familiar? Like so many parents, I was overwhelmed — tired of the daily food struggles, tired of the guilt, and just wishing for one dinner we could all enjoy without begging, bribing, or bargaining.
I didn’t want to raise a picky eater who lived on processed snacks. I wanted to raise a child who felt curious, confident, and joyful about food.
So I started experimenting. I played with colors, shapes, textures — made veggie muffins, turned lunch into rainbows, and snacks into smiley faces. And something beautiful happened: food became fun. Mealtime became peaceful. And most importantly, my child began to explore new foods, one silly spoonful at a time.
That’s when NumNumRecipes was truly born — not just as a blog, but as a mission.
